Tim Plaisted is an artist living in Brisbane, Australia working with digital media. His work has been included in three Multimedia Art Asia Pacific Festivals, exhibited in Australia, Korea, Mexico, Thailand and the United States and reviewed in Artforum. Plaisted's practice developed concurrently with a career in electronic media, print and post production. As such, it is influenced by graphic design, media theory and motion graphics and their developing relationship with rapid changes in accessibility to technology. This has lead to diverse outcomes in net.art, processed video and software art. A shared strategy across the works has been to relate generation of meaning or experience to intervention with the work's underlying medium. Areas of investigation include: light and space, open source development as it relates to software art, immersion using accessible technology and play.
